The scope of this project was to create a series of questions to ask someone at ONW. We had to ask questions about something that made this specific student at Olathe Northwest unique. The interview was originally going to be a video but we decided to make it an all audio. The video needed to be 60-90 seconds long as well.
Process
I had to talk with Lilly a bit to get some information about what I was going to interview her about. I decided to interview her about her participation in the fall musical "Beauty and the Beast". I had to come up with several questions that talked about dancing and they needed to be good questions where the interviewee can answer with in depth answers.
What I learned
I learned that writing a script is really fun and you get to be creative. I enjoyed making the introduction in a unique way. I also learned that audio is very difficult. I thought that audio would be pretty simple but I realized that it is way more complex. I think that audio will be important if I wanted to pursue making music videos because audio plays an important role when making music videos. I also learned that it is crucial to communicate with the person you are interviewing. You need to ask and word questions that will get the responses that you are looking for. You also have to make sure your interviewee speaks loud and clear and also uses complete sentences. You also need to be professional when interviewing someone.
What I would do different
Next time I would definitely want to improve my audio skills. I would make sure to get my audio channels to be even and reduce the background noise while still keeping the interviewee loud. I would also want to clean up my hard edits or places where you could hear where I edited the clips.
What I would do the same
Next time I would want to continue asking good questions and writing good voiceovers. I thought that I asked good questions and I got in-depth answers. I thought that my voiceover script was decent. Next time I may want to talk a bit faster but overall it was good.
Overall
In this project I learned how to compose a basic interview. I successfully wrote a voiceover and good questions. I will need to improve on my audio skills and how to eliminate hard edits. I will continue to ask my interviewee to speak clear and loud with complete sentences and I will want to continue to be professional if I decide to go into a interviewing career.
