5x5 Typography Artboards

5x5 Typography Artboards

Scope of the project

For this project we were told to pick for quotes out that have meaning to us. I chose quotes that I liked and the tI could relate to as well las choosing quotes that I could invasion on a poster or in a picture frame hanging up on a wall.

Process

The process of this project wasn't to difficult. After I chose my four quotes I had to sit down a sketch out several ideas that I could create once I got onto the computer. Once I completed the sketching phase I got to use Adobe Illustrator to make my posters. Firstly I focused on just the typography and kept the colors black and white only. I wanted to make sure the text looked good before getting creative with the colors and graphics that I wanted to add. I enjoy the black and white versions of my pictures a lot but I knew that adding color would just enhance the posters. I wanted to make the posters have a similar look to them all. I decided to chose a specific color scheme so that when hanging on a wall they would look well together. After I was done with that I wanted to make a mockup of what these poster would look like in a picture frame so I decided to take my posters into Adobe Photoshop.

Presenting

When I was presenting I received great feedback. Some people said that they would like for these to be printed off and put in their rooms. That was a great compliment and I was really glad that some said that about my work. Someone suggested that I make the stop sign red instead of blue. I decided to keep it the same because I like how that looked.

Overall

During this project I got to learn more about typography. I learned how to pair fonts together and how to make them look good. I learned how to maintain balance within a poster and how to have good spacing.
